so my husband is reading this book, the way of success by sterling w. sill, and yesterday we decided to sit outside in the beautiful weather to read a chapter together.. the chapter we ended up reading was about The Pleasure Principal which is basically that as humans we tend to do things that bring us pleasure and avoid those things that cause us pain.
i want to share a paragraph that i really loved;
In our ignorance we sometimes think life is picking on us and we become rebellious, or we feel sorry for ourselves and get discouraged. Then we lose our morale and quit trying. as the pain is increased we sometimes whine or cry, instead of taking life's suggestions that we repent.
(here's my favorite line....)
But life never turns off the pain until we eliminate the cause. (duh)
the pressure is increased until we either change our ways, smother our conscience or have a nervous breakdown. instead of accomplishing what was intended, some let fears and worries take over their lives to produce heart trouble and other disease. but this pleasure pain arrangement seems to be here to stay, and we had better learn how to profitably live with it..
LOVE IT!!

Cafe Rio, yummy! but is it racist?
so what is the deal with Cafe Rio. this might be funny to just me and my bestie Dinah but i had to write about it. me and Dinah love to go eat lunch at Cafe Rio. i think we've filled up at least 10 cards together. so you know that the 11th meal is free right and then they yell "FREE MEAL" so everyone can hear.... well can i just tell you that not once have they said it for us not even once. and then the next person in line will have one and they yell it out. so my theory is that they're racist to brown people. doesn't really make sense since it's a Mexican joint right! i know but i cant think of any other explanation!!! so if you've ever had a free meal please tell me if they yell for you and if they do it every time so i can finally know once and for all!!

last night i went to my ward service project. they were making little wooden toy cars, quilts, and file folder games. it was fun. the best thing of all was that i totally remember my mom having all those file folder games. i got so excited about it i came home and made Ava one!! so i hear these are the best thing to keep children entertained and quite at church!

our little fam cold as ever at a rest stop in Wyoming
my 1 month vacation
Gainsville, Virginia. doesn't sound very exciting does it but can i just say i loved every minute I was there!! mainly because i have the worlds best in-laws! i cant even begin to mention how great carlos's family is! so mainly i went out there to make curtins for my house but i sure did a lot of shopping, and spent a lot of time with my sister in law Ashley (i love her!) and her funny boyfriend Pedro it was fun! one of my favorite theories of my mother in law Zorayda is "el que se enoja pierde" (hopefully you get that) she is someone i want to live my life like. that woman never gets mad! its amazing. she truly knows how to live life to the fullest!so this was a great opportunity for me to get closer to Ashley and i did! i cant wait to see her again! much love to her and her sweetheart! muah!

meet the family
So Me...
what can i say lets see.... the obvious I'm a Venezuelan native raised in good old happy valley Utah. i like to think that right now in my life I'm kind of at a crossroads trying to revamp my inner self. or better said my inner desires. my greatest passions in my life are first my husband and daughter, who are truly my life, Carlos is truly my better half without him i would not be complete. i like to think I'm the luckiest person in the world because i have a husband that makes me laugh every single day of my life. but trust me he sure knows how to push my buttons. Ava and i well we like to fight a lot we're like little kids except she is a kid not me oops! but i cant thank god enough for her she is my greatest joy in life i don't know how I've survived life without her for so long! well second comes dance, salsa to be exact if i could only explain what music does to me and for me as weird as that sounds but its like salsa makes my blood run through my body. i get pretty depressed listening to it because its not a part of my life right now. that's been a battle I've been trying to win since i moved back from Florida. the only dance fix in my life right now is teaching for ROC. thats the group i met my husband in. and third my profession. but that's debatable i love what i do but i don't love doing it for free... so does that make it a passion? i don't know. when i do things like photo shoots and runway i really enjoy it paid or not so i guess my passion for hair and make-up is conditional. but don't get me wrong i really enjoy what i do!
I've been fortunate to see so much good in my life especially through those around me. i think I'm lucky to realize the good in my life because it sure is easy to see all the bad... my secret?...accept that everything beautiful in this world is a sign of heavenly fathers love for me!! it really works.
Through all the lessons I've learned in life I've only realized how much i still have to learn. life is a never ending classroom. i was never the best student so hopefully I'm passing tests given to me day by day.. poetic i know! jajaja
The one thing i hate to admit as an adult is looking back in life and saying dang it my parents were right! don't you hate that feeling? i can see it now 15 years from now saying the same thing to my kids and them rolling their eyes at me like I'm a flinston who knows nothing! jeez! oh how the tables are turning!! anyways over all i think i would be ungrateful to say that my life is anything less than wonderful with its few grains of salt that make life so tasty!
Carlos Palacios
Born in Honduras raised in Virginia.. one of the nicest guys you'll meet. he loves people and people love him! 100% genuine! he's currently attending the LDSBC in salt lake full time and works for wells fargo as a service manager in west valley. its all quiet the commute from Pleasant Grove.. needless to say my husband is working hard for his ladies. i totally admire and appreciate him for it!
His favorite things to do are, (well it depends when you ask him! if you know him you know what i mean!!!) Golf. if you know someone he can go golfing with let me know he'll go with anyone!! Ava and i really enjoy going with him when the weather is nice. lets just say that Carlos loves to be active just doesn't have much time to be!
Little Ava Sophia
Not because she's mine i swear but Ava is to cute for words! her big brown eyes full lips and absolutely adorable curly hair is just irresistible.. over all as long as she's fed she is such a good baby very calm and content. i think its because God knows i wouldn't survive ten minutes with a crazy kid! like i said before she is the joy in our lives! she loves to tickle and be tickled, chased and held.. i love her! nuff said!! thank you lord for such a blessing!
